Description:
The GSM-OMC is designed for the complete range of GSM 900 and 1800 network elements as prescribed in GSM recommendations. This encompasses configuration management, fault management and performance management for the Base Station Sub-system as well as the Mobile Switching Centre (MSC).
The Configuration Management module offers the operator centralized control over the network configuration. This includes immediate and/or deferred network configuration change control, centralized storage of BSS network configuration data and user warnings for potential service effecting operator actions. Some of the OMC-2000 BSS Configuration Management capabilities include:
· Creating, modifying and deleting BSS objects
· Managing object states
· Audit of Objects and Object Trees
· Consistency Checks
· OSI State Management
· Software Administration and Download Upload of BSS Database (DB) and Journal Files
· Configuration Event Logging & Configuration Change Logging
· Interactive Script Program Support
· Configuration data reports, report manipulation and auto-generation of AUI scripts
· On-Line Connection to MSC
·
Adjacent Cell update
Duration: 6 Months
2. Title: WaveMANAGER/Pro
Description:
WaveMANAGER/Pro is network Management software for Lucent's (now Agere)
wireless LAN applications. It is build on top of HP-OV Network Node Manager,
has a C backend and uses Tcl/Tk for front-end. WaveMANAGER/Pro capabilities
include WavePOINT configuration, monitoring, autodiscovery of WavePOINT,
alarm management and diagnostics for connected end stations.
As
part of WaveMANAGER/Pro team my responsibility was of feature enhancements
and MR fixing as and when required. My personal contribution for the project
was of porting the project to Solaris and HP-UX and releasing to customers,
maintaining quality documents, feature "SNMP Configuration settings”, upgrading
to support new WavePOINTs (AP-1000 & AP-500) and fixing MRs .
Duration: 1 Year.
3. Additional Responsibility:
Member PDT (Process Deployment Team) -GSM-OMC
Motive: Quality can't be driven by people outside of project. Someone from the project team itself should drive the project quality.
In the unique quality model
of Lucent, PDT with guidance of PET (Process Engineering Team) drive the
quality across organization. As member PDT my roles and Responsibilities
are:
Language
: JAVA
Description
:
Resource Discovery on Internet is a 3-dimensional problem. The three dimensions being: Increasing User base, increasing data diversity and increasing data volume. In this project we improved on “client-directory-server model” to tackle the problem. The work is being extended by M.M.S. Beg (Lecturer, AMU) for his PhD thesis.
Contributions:
We proposed a new ranking algorithm better suited
for client-directory-server architecture.
We proposed architecture for load balancing.
We implemented a prototype tool for the purpose; it took data from
Yahoo, Lycos and Netscape directories for searching.
M.TECH MINOR PROJECT:
Title: Development of parallel algorithm for factorization of very large integers
The objective
of the project was to test the security of RSA and predicting the time
taken by best non-heuristic algorithm to break the RSA challenge (100 digit).
The project was carried on our 12 nodes IBM SP2 machine using MPI library.
B.Sc(Engineering) MAJOR PROJECT:
Title: Development of modules for implementation of wireless printer
The objective of the project was to implement a wireless serial port printer. We used FM technique and implemented two devices for computer side and for printer side.
